HR

The HR department helps to ensure that NIVA is an attractive place to work and facilitates a positive, safe and stimulating working environment for staff and managers.

The HR section supports staff and managers throughout their employment and works to ensure well-being, professional development and good working conditions at NIVA. We help the institute to attract, develop and retain competent staff, whilst ensuring compliance with requirements relating to the working environment and staff support.

The department is responsible for staff and management development, recruitment, skills development initiatives, HR administration, organisational development and pay negotiations. We also manage the institute’s HR systems and processes relating to, amongst other things, onboarding and offboarding.

We have expertise in HR, organisational development, recruitment, the working environment and health, safety and the environment (HSE). The section has a particular responsibility for monitoring sick leave, the psychosocial working environment and ergonomics, and works closely with managers and staff to promote an inclusive and sustainable working life.
