Marine Nature Map
The project delivers a national, wall-to-wall map of NiN 3.0 main marine benthic ecosystem types for Norway’s coastal and marine area out to 1 nautical mile from the baseline, accompanied by probability/uncertainty maps. The workflow integrates remote sensing (drone, satellite, bathymetric LiDAR), niche modelling, and existing reference datasets.
COMPASS (Comprehensive Offshore Management Platform for Assessing Sustainability)
COMPASS (Comprehensive Offshore Management Platform for Assessing Sustainability) is an EU-funded project that delivers an innovative and holistic assessment of both global and local cumulative impacts of offshore wind farms, integrating environmental, economic, and social tools with an offshore wind farm digital twin.
Laboratory for genetic analyses
Coastal Harmony
Coastal Harmony will investigate how land use planning, water management, and nature conservation work together to protect the coastal ecosystem—especially at a time when the aquaculture industry is growing rapidly. The project will assess how well current policies and management practices are coordinated, and identify obstacles that make it difficult to protect the coastal environment.
Monitoring of Environmental Pollutants in Coastal Areas (MILKYS)
The program monitors levels, trends and effects of the most environmentally hazardous heavy metals and organic pollutants in marine organisms along the entire Norwegian coast, from the Oslofjord to the Varangerfjord, and in Svalbard.
Snowland
Sustainable urban snow management within tighter frames for nature, the environment and land use.
