Summary

The Fosser Stream has faced significant challenges, including flooding and erosion, which have negatively affected the residential areas of Fosser and the overall ecological health of the stream. In light of the increasing frequency of flooding, particularly during extreme weather events like the storm Hans (August 2023), CBEC and NIVA has been commissioned by Aurskog-Høland Municipality to conduct a targeted assessment aimed at identifying effective strategies for managing flood risk along the Fosser Stream. This report outlines the findings of this initial assessment and presents recommendations for flood risk management that could be implemented along the stream. In particular, the project examines the feasibility for daylighting culverted sections of the stream within the housing estates of Fosser and evaluates potential for implementing Natural Flood Management (NFM) solutions in the catchment area.
